Last Video Game Book Club pick was way, way too long to play in a week (Gary is still playing CrossCode!) so this week we've picked something shorter: titularly shorter, in fact. A Short Hike is a tiny, perfectly cut gem of a game, and we're too distracted sharing everything we've found to level more than one or two criticisms at it. Play it, and then join us on this mountaintop hot spring!

Content warning: spoilers for A Short Hike throughout the entire episode, CrossCode spoilers in the post-pod (after the outro music).

Also, as a reminder - always feel free to skip the post-pod. Or the post-post-pod. My cohosts are maniacs and told me to leave it all in. Blame me for saying I wanted the ep to be longer than the game. ~feather

In this episode: this isn't a walking sim, favorite NPCs, the corrupt world of sand castle politics, pixel crunchiness, the merits of maps, podcasting bird says flying is good, ending spoilers, Will gives a game design lecture, feather interrupts, Gary professes a love for Gregg.

~shoutouts zone~

Midwinter Soup Frenzy

Dueling Peaks vista

Liyue Harbor vista

Feather is editing this one so have another Genshin vista (it's Sumeru City)

Avalon City, in the best open world game (literally just going outside)

Join us in playing our next game as part of our video game book club series: Night in the Woods
